A website built around the idea that freedom often begins with simplicity. Hi, I’m Murf, and I am a retired 67-year-old who found this information later in life. So, I decided that I wanted to embrace not only a simple, but also a mobile lifestyle.

Like many people today, I reached a point where modern life started to feel unnecessarily complicated. Rising costs, constant stress, clutter, debt, noise, and the pressure to keep accumulating more things can leave people feeling trapped instead of fulfilled.

Road Wise Living is being created as a practical resource for people who want something different, and for me to document my new mobile lifestyle as life unfolds before and after hitting the road in my SUV and Cargo Trailer Camper.

This site focuses on downsizing, simple living, mobile travel, financial simplification, and building a more intentional lifestyle without the unrealistic hype often found online. The goal is not luxury travel, influencer culture, or pretending life on the road is perfect. Instead, this website is about practical solutions, realistic expectations, and creating more freedom with less stress.

As said above, I’m currently simplifying my life and preparing for a more mobile, flexible future with a 2018 Toyota RAV4, a practical SUV that I already own, and a Cargo Trailer that I purchased after attempting to use only the SUV. It was just too uncomfortable for me to sleep in after several attempts. The cargo trailer was my cheapest option after realizing I could not do it in my RAV4 alone. It is a 5×8 foot with a V-Nose and extra height.

Along the way, I’m researching, learning, downsizing, organizing, and sharing what I discover here for others who may be considering a similar path.
